Cupping is much like the inverse of massage - rather than applying pressure to muscles, it uses gentle pressure to pull them upward. For most Guests, this is a particularly relaxing and relieving sensation. Body cupping benefits include: loosen muscles, encourage blood flow, sedate the nervous system (excellent treatment for high blood pressure). Cupping is used to relieve back and neck pains, stiff muscles, anxiety, fatigue, migraines, rheumatism, and even cellulite and weight loss.

Facial and neck cupping also have several aesthetic benefits.

  1. Drainage of fluid in the lymph glands results in reduced edema and puffy appearance.

  2. Better nutrition brought to the skin helps bring a young glow to the skin.

  3. The lifting motion reduces the visible fine lines, wrinkles, and scarring because of injuries or acne. The skin also looks plumper.

Gua sha is a massage technique designed to relieve tension in the muscles of the face, boost blood circulation and encourage lymphatic drainage to banish bloat. It helps break up fascia — the connective tissue that hugs muscles but can sometimes interfere with optimal circulation — and can even help to make your face look slimmer (albeit temporarily). Devotees swear by its ability to ward off headaches and jaw pain and brighten skin (due to the boost in circulation). Some even consider it a Botox alternative for its ability to unkink settled-in muscle folds.
